Sharon Svigilsky, Global Business Integration Director at GSA Force, is thrilled with the work the company has done in the last six months integrating more technology into the company, with the goal of making processes more efficient for staff and customers. By taking advantage of both Google tools and an in-house system, they are increasing their team’s efficiency and improving transparency and service for customers.
“It’s been a long journey with a full team dedicated to this goal. As we started diving into the project, we analyzed every process staff goes through to conduct business. We have different businesses such as Mercury Americas as a broker and GSA Force contracting to fill specific flights and airlines we represent. We realized most of our work was being done manually with one person “owning” the information,” says Sharon.
The team achieved their goals. Staff members not based in the U.S. are now able to work with all other staff in collaborative platforms. This provides flexibility and reduces costs. Sharon says this is a noticeable difference from how they used to operate.
“No one owns the information, updates, or contacts. On the shared platform, everyone can see everything – from who’s working on it to the managers. They can look at all the bookings, different KPIs, and alerts and see how long it takes to book from the time it was requested and how long cargo is taking to arrive. This allows them to catch problems faster.”
The project has had a significant impact on how the company operates, shifting who does what and how much time is spent on each task. The staff have provided positive feedback. Operations staff are pleased by how much faster the processes are. Sales staff are happy due to the transparency. On a large screen, they can see a graphic about each task, so they don’t have to ask operations staff, and they have the ability to problem solve better.
According to Sharon, new plans include acquiring more information from other sources to generate new opportunities. GSA Force plans to eventually buy or develop a system that integrates such information with the system and provides reports and visibility of the opportunities to the sales team.
“I am so excited to see the results, and it’s fun for me to see how it’s impacted everyone.”
