Vicki Lewis believes that her decision to move to Mercury Air in 2011 was the best one of her careers.

She started as a collector, when one of her former co-workers reached out to see if she’d be interested in applying for a job at Mercury Air to clean up collections. Prior to Mercury Air, Vicki had been the regional collections manager for DB Schenker for 14 years.

“That was my challenge at Mercury Air at the time – cleaning up accounts due,” say Vicki. And she was successful.

She was later promoted to collections manager and then received another promotion to her current position as credit manager. She reviews customers’ credit history, determines credit worthiness, and approves their credit. On the collections side she collects past funds due, puts accounts on hold if necessary or passes the account onto an outside agency.

“I pride myself on not having any write-offs at the end of year. It gives me gratification by having zero write-offs and I accomplish this many years.”

Vicki appreciates the company’s focus on work/life balance, her relationships with her colleagues, and the personal support she receives from both Joe Czyzyk and her supervisor Lawrence Samuels.

“Joe makes sure I have all the support I need to get the job done, and Lawrence encourages me to run the department the way I need to along with his support when needed. When you get that kind of personal support, you want to make the company and what you do a priority.”

In her free time, Vicki loves boating, going to jazz concerts, traveling, shopping, and trying out new restaurants. She enjoys spending time with her family and is proud of both of her children who received their master’s degree at 24.
