HPL-Apollo Entirely Owned by Hellman Logistics

Mercury Aviation announced that the company has sold its shares in HPL-Apollo to Hellman Logistics. HPL-Apollo is now entirely owned by Hellman Logistics. The transaction closed on December 3, 2024. This was a two-part sale, combined with the sale of HPL-Apollo Freight. HPL-Apollo Freight had been wholly owned by Mercury and has operations in Columbia, Ecuador, and Costa Rica.

HPL-Apollo CEO Ivo Skorin is now part of the Hellman Logistics organization.

Joe Czyzyk remembers meeting Ivo 11 years ago. At the time, Ivo was the general manager for LAN Chile Airlines. He was here on a posting and the company was planning on sending him to another location. Ivo requested lunch with Joe, and at that lunch told him he’d like to start a perishables freight forwarding company. Would Joe support? Joe agreed and funded Ivo’s operation for 6 years. After the 6 years, 50% of HPL-Apollo was sold to Hellman Logistics.

“The operation became very successful, and Ivo has been a great guy to work with. I wish him all the best. I’m sure he’ll be very successful, and he’ll grow that business for the benefit of the new ownership. He’ll achieve much success,” says Joe.
