Jason Bergstrom has been part of MercFuel for over 10 years. He began as a Fuel Representative, moving his way up to Fuel Sales Director, and in July 2024 he was promoted to Executive Vice President and Director of Sales. As the operation is based in Houston, Jason relocated to better collaborate with the team and have a home based in the country’s energy capitol. He is enjoying life in Texas with his family.

His focus has been to provide more concierge level service by tailoring support to clients’ specific needs and to expand to new markets while improving what the company already offers.

“Service as a product has been talked about a lot in the industry. But with consolidation it isn’t always happening. MercFuel is still dedicated to providing strong service in an environment where personal relationships have become devalued,” says Jason.

Jason is also working toward consolidating commercial and general aviation; yet the company will still have representatives that focus on one over the other.

He notes some successes over the past year – the company is participating in more commercial RFPs, the commercial team has added many more customer contracts and locations, and the general aviation team kept existing business despite consolidation and grew gallons for key accounts. Challenges Jason and his team are working to overcome include the consolidation of FBOs and customers.
