Mercury CEO Presents Chilean President with Basket of Produce Imported from Chile by Apollo Freight

Produce Symbolizes the Strong Trade Relationship Between Chile & California

Los Angeles, CA (September 27, 2010): Joseph A. Czyzyk, Chairman & CEO of Mercury Air Group, Inc., presented His Excellency Sebastian Piñera, President of the Republic of Chile, with a basket of produce imported from Chile by Mercury's perishable freight forwarding subsidiary, Apollo Freight, at the conclusion of President Piñera's remarks at a breakfast held in Downtown Los Angeles on Friday, September 24, 2010.

In presenting the produce that arrived in Mercury's warehouse at Los Angeles International Airport from Chile, less than 10 hours before the breakfast, Czyzyk said it "symbolizes the strong trade relationship between Chile and California." President Piñera accepted the basket of produce and quickly raised it up over his head to the rousing applause of the over 300 guests attending the "Chile-California Trade & Innovation Opportunities" breakfast.

Joe CzyzykIn his brief remarks, Czyzyk, who also serves as the First Vice Chair of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, mentioned that Mercury recently opened an office in Santiago, Chile. Mercury's Santiago office will focus on cargo sales and service, including exports and imports.

"I was very impressed with President Piñera. I had the honor of sitting next to him at breakfast and then listening to his presentation on his goals for Chile. I am now even more energized that we have opened an office in Santiago. Chile's best days are ahead under President Piñera's leadership," said Czyzyk.
