MercFuel is pleased to announce the opening of their Singapore office and the appointment of Siaw Yang Tan (SY) as the Regional Director.  SY will spearhead MercFuel's expansion into the commercial jet fuel market across Asia, overseeing sales and supply operations in China, Japan, the Philippines, Korea, Singapore and other Southeast Asian countries.  She brings a wealth of experience to the position. 

Building on her almost 30 years of work experience in the aviation fuel industry with a global presence and exposure, SY is equipped to drive growth and innovate within this sector. In addition to her vast experience, SY says she is bringing her passion to this new chapter in her life.

Reflecting on her new role, SY shares her enthusiasm, "I am thrilled to embark on this new adventure with MercFuel.  The supportive leadership here creates an environment conducive to high performance, rooted in collaboration and strong customer service.  I am eager to contribute to the expansion and evolution of our commercial jet fuel biz."

SY’s previous positions gave her the opportunity to build something from scratch. Returning to the professional realm now after dedicating time to her family, SY is committed to leveraging her extensive experience and strategic acumen to establish a network, tailored to the dynamically changing market conditions observed in recent years.   

On the importance of adaptability, she remarks, "Change is the only constant in life.  Having experienced numerous shifts in the market and business cycles, particularly during the pandemic, I understand the critical importance of being flexible and highly adaptable." 

When away from work, SY enjoys travelling and cherishing moments with her three children, balancing her professional endeavors with her personal life.

MercFuel opened a new office in Shanghai on August 1 with experienced staff to expand fuel sales on a selective basis and coordinate with existing customers and suppliers, reporting to SY. 

The company closed its Houston office during the pandemic with staff working remotely since then. On September 1 MercFuel Houston will reopen its offices in a new location at Houston Intercontinental Airport.
